The June spiritual reflection illustrates how we Christians are believers of the unbelievable.

A spiritual reflection, Lean on Me, from a National Spirituality Committee member reminds us to have a good prayer life.

Father Joe Quinn, past National Spiritual Advisor and past Windsor Essex Central Council Spiritual Advisor, passed away earlier this year. There was an article in the Windsor Star about him being a poet, painter and priest. Father Quinn was a much loved Vincentian!

The fall meeting will be held in Brantford on September 20/21 so be sure to mark this date on your calendars. These meetings are open to all members and store managers.

The meeting on September 21st will take place at St. Pius X Church, 9 Waverley Street, Brantford. Blocks of rooms have been booked at Days Inn, 460 Fairview Drive, Brantford, Tel: 519-759-2700 (rooms are available Sept. 20 and 21 at a cost of $119) and Comfort Inn, 58 King George Road, Tel: 519-753-3100 (rooms are available Sept. 20 only at a cost of $101). Please quote the room block for the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul. More information about the meeting will follow later as details unfold.

We look forward to seeing you at the National AGA in Windsor taking place June 19 – 23. There will be an ONRC meeting held on Wednesday, June 19 from 7:15 – 9:00 pm in the Katzman Room, Vanier Hall, where you will hear updates from the Executive team.

For National Council voting members (which includes Central Council and Particular Presidents) who are not attending the AGA in Windsor, please remember to fill out the proxy form included in the package you received from National and give it to someone who is attending the AGA to ensure there is quorum.

The May Vincenpaul edition or le français shares information from Quebec Regional Council on their North of 60 project they recently started, news from their Social Justice Committee and a twinning relationship.

I was recently asked about how to get the SSVP logo as it is not found on our website. The reason the logo is not accessible on the website is for the protection of our brand as anyone would have access to it from the website and not only our Vincentians. There is now a video available to help with recruitment looking for people who are interested in learning about the “Vincentian way of life” as a way to deepen their Spirituality. This 2-1/2 minute video is a tool that can be used when doing an appeal at Mass or when making a presentation to a Ministry such as the Knights of Columbus or CWL, or to any organization.

Unfortunately, we had a Particular Council and 2 Conferences close in the past 6 months due to failing recruitment and succession planning efforts. Please know that ONRC is available to assist with rejuvenation efforts to avoid more Conferences and Councils closing. Reach out to for more information.

As mentioned at our spring ONRC meeting, we are starting to think about succession planning since the current Executive’s term ends in 2 years on June 30, 2021. We want to identify leaders with the right skills from across the province to be part of a discussion to take ONRC to the next level. Please provide names of people with these leadership skills to
