Dear Fellow Vincentians,

Thank you to everyone who attended the ONRC meeting held in London September 16 / 17. We had a record attendance of 111 attendees, and it was wonderful to see you there. It was great to start the day with a beautiful Mass and Commissioning Ceremony for all Vincentians.

A summary of the five workshops held at the meeting can be found here. I encourage everyone to view the tremendous work developing in these areas.

The goals and objectives set for the new Executive team were shared at the meeting (these can be found here). The minutes of the meeting will soon be posted on the ONRC website in the Members Site under the “Meetings & Reports” tab for your information. In the meantime, you can review the AGM minutes and GMM minutes here.

Please know that the ONRC meetings are open for ALL Vincentians to attend. These meetings give you an opportunity to learn more about the good work done throughout Ontario to serve our friends in need and meet Vincentians from different communities throughout Ontario. Our next meeting will be held in St. Catharines March 31 / April 1, 2017.

The SSVP Council General International report is available and can be viewed at here. We have a new International President General, Renato Lima de Oliveira from Brazil, who officially took office September 9, 2016, on the Feast Day of Blessed Frederic Ozanam. I would like to congratulate Carmela Addante from Waterloo, who has been appointed 1st General Vice President Deputy of the SSVP Council General International.

I would like to remind you that we are celebrating the 170th anniversary of SSVP in Canada on November 12, 2016. Councils and Conferences are encouraged to celebrate this exciting milestone by holding a special Mass along with Vincentian Family Time, which will be celebrated by Vincentians all across Canada.

We are looking for a registered dietician who is interested in preparing articles on healthy eating to help our friends in need. If you know of a registered dietician who can assist, please contact me at linda@ssvp.on.ca.
