A Message from our New President(posted: July 16, 2016)Dear Fellow Vincentians,
It’s hard to believe that it has been 7 months since I was elected to be President for Ontario Regional Council, and the time is now here when my new role starts. I am very excited to be in this role and I look forward to working with all Vincentians across Ontario to fulfill our mission of serving the poor with love, respect, justice and joy. The new Executive team consists of Anita Reansbury (Brantford), Corry Wink (Ottawa), Pegg Leroux (Waterloo), Phil Bondy (London), Sue Mazziotti-Armitage (Peterborough), Lillian Mulder (London), Sophia Mutuc (London), Denise Bondy (Amherstberg), Terry Mizzen (London), Sarah Davidson (Etobicoke) and Jim Paddon (Chatham). The new Executive team recently met for a one and half day Retreat July 9th and 10th with our theme being the Vincentian Family. We came together as family to bond and get to know one another better to help us work well as a team during our 5 year term. We discussed our goals and objectives focusing on how we can best support you to help you carry out our mission of serving our friends living in poverty. Our goals will be shared with you at the fall meeting taking place in London September 16 / 17. One of our goals is to listen to you, Vincentians at all levels, with your ideas, questions and concerns. Please reach out to me or a member of the Executive team at any time. Our email contact information is on the website. I will be writing a report for the National Board on newcomers to Ontario, and I need your input. Please share information with me on whether you have received many newcomers in your area and, if so, has the need to serve people increased for your area, and how have you kept up with the need? In closing, I want to thank Jim and his Executive team for all that they have done the past 5 years leading the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul in Ontario. They have done an amazing job, and the new Executive intends to take our Society to the next level in Ontario. I look forward to seeing you in London for the fall ONRC meeting. An invitation will be sent out shortly with more details. Thank you for all that you do to serve our friends in need. God Bless, Linda Dollard President's MessageA Message from our New President
