Below are highlights of the National Council Board meeting held June 19:

• Work continues on the member portal which will simplify administration tasks and we are looking to identify Conferences/Councils who are interested in being part of a soft launch in the fall of 2021; if interested, please contact national@ssvp.ca; training videos will be available when the rollout of the member portal takes place in 2022.
  
  
• National Council Strategic Plan for 2021- 2024 was approved, which will soon be post on the National website.
  
  
• 28 SSVP communities in Canada (17 of these communities are in Ontario) are partnered with Second Harvest Food Rescue which resulted in 6,945 meals rescued and 34,757 pounds of food not going to landfill.
  
  
• National Council now sends bi-weekly communications and looking for stories to highlight – share your stories – gratifying success stories, innovative activities.
  
  
• Website re-design underway to improve external view to the public (as current view is more internal for members).
