2025 Fall Assembly(posted: September 24, 2025)2025 Fall Assembly![]() To ALL Ontario Vincentians - This is your official “personal” invitation to attend our 2025 FALL Assembly, WE are delighted that the YORK-SIMCOE PARTICULAR COUNCIL has agreed to host this event. This is being held on Friday October 3rd and Saturday October 4th at St. Elizabeth Church, Newmarket. Our ONRC Events Committee has worked in conjunction with the YSPC to ensure that you will be entertained in a most friendly atmosphere supplied by the members of the churches that comprise the YSPC. The FUN starts on Friday with Registration, and I have been told a rejuvenated “Meet and Greet” starts at 6:00 p.m. We urge you to come in early and ENJOY the atmosphere with your fellow Vincentians. There will be refreshments for your enjoyment. We start with Mass on Saturday morning followed by welcomes and workshops. Lunch will be served followed by some camaraderie sessions. As your President, I am extending this personal invitation to all members from all Central Councils, Particular Councils and Conferences to join us for some Vincentian greetings and fellowship. I am asking all Councils to ensure that this invitation is shared with all your Conferences. So, take the journey to personally partake in the happenings this weekend in October. Most of all, IT IS FREE! Please see the Schedule (download) and Registration Form (download) on our website.... www.ssvp.on.ca On another note, this is a gentle reminder that 2025 had been proclaimed as a Jubilee Year for our Church by our Holy Father, Pope Francis. It is the year that we are asked to pray for “Pilgrims of Hope”. In addition, the prayers for the “Heroes of Hope”, the name attached to all the different factions, are “FOR THOSE WHO CARE FOR THE POOR”(that would include all Vincentians). The prayer starts with, “ “Lord God, by the grace of our baptism, you have given us new life in Christ and called us to serve as Pilgrims of Hope”. I ask that you use these prayers in asking our God to show us Mercy as we continue to serve His poor. Our theme for this FALL Assembly is, “Serving in Hope thru Simplicity and Selflessness”, and it was chosen to help us all highlight this in our Jubilee Year. WE do hope that as many Vincentians as possible would join us for a FUN and PRAYERFUL time in Newmarket. Yours in Vincent and Ozanam, Guido Kelly, President, Ontario Regional Council President's Message2025 Fall Assembly
