Mandate: The Committee is responsible:
- To work with the ONRC Board as well as its Committees, Central Councils, Particular Councils and Isolated Conferences to communicate the mission, mandates and activities of the Ontario Regional Council to all stakeholders for the purpose of engaging Ontario-based Vincentians and donors in support of service to those in need.
- To create communication strategies and plans to execute action items as directed and approved by the Board of Directors
Activity during 2025: The Communications committee met regularly by electronic means and completed the following activities.
- maintained data base of Council & conference presidents (in GoDaddy)
- promoted spring assembly (April at Sarnia) & fall assembly (October in Newmarket)
- completed review/update of ONRC website ssvp.on.ca
- prepared and issued newsletters for ONRC as well as Fund Development, North of 60, Ozanam Fund & Rejuvenation Committees, to all Presidents & other Ontario Vincentians as appropriate (using GoDaddy platform)
- developed 2-year communications plan
- with consultant, established a social media strategy
Focus of activity for 2026:
- implement first year of two-year plan, including:
- build new ONRC website using insights gained from the 2025 review/update process
- develop (optional) template for (optional) conference website
- publish regular newsletters from ONRC & ONRC committees
- promote ONRC spring and fall assemblies
- implement social media strategy prepared in 2025
