Recycled Computer Program

St. Catherine of Siena Church Parish / Our Lady of Lourdes site in Hamilton has started working with RCT computers to provide some families in need with a refurbished computer.

Renewed Computer Technology (RCT) is a not-for-profit, charitable organization that empowers learners, educators and not-for-profit organizations with increased access to information and communications technology (ICT), skill development and learning opportunities, in a socially and environmentally responsible manner.

RCT VISION: RCT expands minds by extending technology. The RCTech OUTREACH program provides low income individuals with affordable ownership of quality renewed computers, ready to use software & learning modules all in one package. http://www.rcto.ca/

Some quick facts:
  • RCT recycle used computers and load software.
  • They can provide desktop computers for $60 and laptops for $150.
  • You are required to fill out an application online and provide details of the families in need.
  • It only takes a few weeks until the computers are ready and then you can pick them up or they will deliver them.
  • The desktop/laptop is a great tool in helping children with their education and assisting parents improve their computer skills which will hopefully help them find employment.
  • Also, giving families a tool to assist them in conducting their job hunting endeavours.
  • If you are also interested in pursuing this option please email Mitch Doorey MDoorey@rcto.ca.
