Time to get to work(May 1, 2026) Time to get to work
May calls us to action. The planning of winter and spring is over. Now it is time to do. The seeds you planted are growing. They need water, sun, and attention. May asks you to tend to your goals. Do not just dream. Act. The energy of May is bright and hopeful. The days are getting longer. The sun is getting warmer. There is a sense of optimism. You have made it through the darkness. Now enjoy the light. May serves as a gentle reminder of the importance of nurturing ourselves and others. Just as the earth thrives with care and attention, we too need to prioritize emotional, physical, and spiritual nourishment. Self-care during May can take many forms, from spending time in nature to practicing mindfulness or simply resting when needed. This month encourages us to listen to our needs and honour them without guilt. This is a time to bring your visions to life. Use this energy to focus on the details, ensuring each action aligns with your ultimate purpose. By doing so, you can turn dreams into tangible progress and accomplishments. For Catholics like ourselves, May is known as the Month of Mary, where the Virgin Mary is venerated through prayers, processions, and floral offerings. Mary represents purity, compassion, and nurturing The honoring of Mary as our spiritual Mother gives us confidence to turn to her in our need. Take some time to reflect on the opportunities offered to you this month. As a Vincentian maybe you are called to take a leadership role. Many conferences and councils are looking for new blood to lead the Society. May equips us with the tools to carry its spiritual energy throughout the year. It’s time to get to work.
