Mandate:
To show the importance of stores as a first contact of our “friends in need”. To unite all Managers and encourage them to take part in aspects of the Society. Getting Managers and Store Committees working in the best interest of the Society.

Meetings:
We will start up our Regional Managers Meetings. Where possible we would like to also, have Store Committee Meetings in the same 4 Regions.

What accomplishments/successes has the program had in the one-year period from January 1 – December 31, 2024
  • This is a newly formed committee. We have met together once and established roles. We have sent out emails for all the managers introducing this new committee.
  • Re-establishing the unity of Store Managers.
  • Establishing the unity of Store Committees

What opportunities are there to focus on this fiscal year?
  • To unite all store managers so they feel and are part of our society. Bringing them together helps every store everywhere.
  • To unite all store chairs so they understand their role in helping stores succeed which helps the society not only in the stores but in all our other special works
  • Continue to share and gain information from our stores across Canada and Globally.
  • How to get Committees and Managers working together better.
  • Would be good to get a good “best practises” document together.
  • Communicate all new and innovative ideas as well as things that are important to store managers.

What challenges has the program encountered in the past year?
  • Minimum Wage going up so much makes it difficult for stores with employees.
  • How stores can help with healing of our indigenous community. They can each do something to promote National Indigenous Day.
  • Lack of communication and protocol between Committees and Managers

How will we deal with these challenges this fiscal year?
  • With a team that has Managers, Committee Chairs and SSVP members hopefully we can help open the lines of communication to make issues easier to find a resolution for all sides. To find a mutual path forward.
  • Where we have Regional Managers Meeting we can also have Regional Chairs Meetings.
  • We will continue to come together to meet and share information
  • Regional meetings are a great way to come together to share in the different areas of the province.
