Public Policy Dialogue & Development (PPDD)

Mandate:
The Public Policy Dialogue and Development Committee, under the supervision and approval of the Board, is responsible for the research, development and communication of advocacy and educational campaigns on social justice, cultural diversity, systemic change, the causes and potential solutions to poverty and injustice in Ontario and Canada.

Activity during 2024: The PPDD met monthly via zoom (excepting July/Aug/Dec.)
The PPDD’s efforts included:

• Updated social justice resource material on ONRC website.
• Prepared and distributed a monthly social justice newsletter.
• Acted on reconciliation via our Indigeous Sharing Circle (ISC)
• Increased activity regarding prison ministry/restorative justice meetings.
• Supported social justice efforts at council levels with advice and resources.

Focus of activity for 2025:

• Advocacy
• Housing and homelessness
• Food insecurity
