Mandate: The Committee is responsible:
- To work with the ONRC Board as well as its Committees, Central Councils, Particular Councils and Isolated Conferences to communicate the mission, mandates and activities of the Ontario Regional Council to all stakeholders for the purpose of engaging Ontario-based Vincentians and donors in support of service to those in need.
- To create communication strategies and plans to execute action items as directed and approved by the Board of Directors
Activity during 2024: The Communications committee met regularly by electronic means and completed the following activities for the period from September 1 to December 31, 2024.
- update data base of presidents
- promote fall assembly September at Hamilton
- begin review/update ONRC website
- schedule regular communications, specifically quarterly newsletters (regarding SSVP operations) to all Presidents and quarterly Vincentimes (good news of Vincentian service)
- develop skills with GoDaddy software for distribution of ONRC messages
Focus of activity for 2025:
- complete review/update of ONRC website
- publish newsletters and Vincentimes according to schedule
- schedule/publish regular messages from ONRC committees, especially PPDD (Social Justice), North of 60 and Ozanam Fund
- promote ONRC spring and fall assemblies
- explore social media platforms and strategies to further share the Vincentian message in the Ontario region
