Mandate: The Committee is responsible for
The Spirituality Committee is to actively promote the spiritual development of all Vincentians, spiritual advisors, and facilitators in Ontario. The Committee will work to have an active and engaged spiritual advisor or facilitator in every conference/council who will provide direction and leadership for members spiritual renewal and growth. Opportunities for spiritual advisors, facilitators, and members for spiritual development will be provided through workshops, retreats, celebrations and inspirational materials and readings. Where possible we will engage with conferences to help develop the skills of the spiritual advisor. We will also help the ONRC Exec with spiritual reflections and aid with spiritual retreats.

Activity during 2024: The committee met regularly ( by electronic means and completed the following activities for the period from January 1 to December 31, 2024.

The committee has reached out to local conferences in their area to offer support in the spiritual growth of their conference and particular council. Monthly spiritual reflections have been provided to all members through the ONRC website. A Lenten and fall online morning of reflection was provided. Every member in Ontario was invited to sign on for the morning. Members were encouraged to celebrate the feast days of patron saints of the Society.

Focus of activity for 2025: The committee will continue to reach out to local conferences in their area to offer support in the spiritual growth of their conference and particular council. Monthly spiritual reflections will continue to be provided to all members through the ONRC website. A Lenten and fall online morning of reflection will be provided. The Lenten morning will be led for the first time by an outside facilitator. Every member in Ontario was invited to sign on for the morning. We will continue to encourage members to celebrate patron feast days. We will also encourage members to celebrate the world day of the poor in some manner in their area.

This year being the Jubilee year of hope for the Church we will encourage activities in the local conferences with this theme. Perhaps a column could be included in the Vincentimes.
